Testimonials

Words from some happy customers…

  • That rare thing, a truly talented performer with a geek-level understanding of marketing, and the critical experience of making the two work hand in hand. As a result, Tim's company has become one of the UK's most booked fire acts in an astonishingly short period of time. I reckon his book is a must for anyone serious about making a living from their act.

  • How To Sell Your Act by Tim Marston offers great advice in a friendly, approachable layout.

Tim's style is casual and sincere, yet he pulls no punches giving you pros and cons based on his real world experience.

  • A happy customer...

Thanks, Tim! I love the ebook, it's really a help

I also appreciate all of the emails! You are a marketing guru. Are you available for hire? ALoha!

Shellie White Owner of "The Healthy Hooper"
  • Tim's advice has been invaluable. I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview at his book and the secrets he shared with me have increased both the quality and quantity of bookings massively

  • When it came to setting up our new website, Tim's in-depth, practical and relevant SEO and website knowledge was invaluable...

Tim has a rare ability to demystify the "voodoo" of Google allowing you to take control of your websites "search-ability" as well as a keen insight into the psychological inner-workings of the mind. This knowledge allows you to design a website that discreetly encourages users to go exactly where you want them. Now that he's distilled his knowledge into a book the cat is out of the bag... Buy it now or get left behind!

  • I've been receiving your newsletter - great work. Thx! I really appreciate your work on "How to sell your Act", sometimes it can be quite overwhelming to start up your own business and there's really not much info out there that's performance specific. Keep your good work up!!

  • The book is great. There's a lot of valuable knowledge in there. I wish this book had been in print when I was thinking about becoming a professional performer.

It would have saved me a lot of hard work and many mistakes. I really like the fact that you not only give practical knowledge such as marketing and website optimszation but that you also suggest that artists spend time thinking about exactly what sort of act they want to do and which markets they would be happy to work in. Even as an experienced and professional artist I've found lots of information in your book that will help me with my career. Thank Tim for being so generous as to share this knowledge with everyone.

  • “Solid practical advice and information from a pro who has obviously been there himself. Up to date and nonsense free. I’ve been selling magic acts for over 20 years…and this book taught me some new and important things about marketing – especially on using the internet more effectively!”

Tobias Beckwith Manager, Producer, Director for Jeff McBride, Marco Tempest and others   (October 2011)
  • “Tim, Thanks so much for the service you're providing to the performing community. I've been really enjoying your newsletter and eBook, lots of great info in there! “

  • This book is great. I just started and Iove your writing style. It cuts right to the chase. Taking notes and I'm nearly writing everything you've written... Getting to work...

  • Thanks for the book and thanks for the open invitation to communicate directly, I know it takes your time and please know it is appreciated and will be used!

Tim - First let me say how much I am enjoying the book and its clear advice. I've got some other resources on booking, etc but all of it seems too dated or muddled and so forth. Your book has put fresh wind in my sails. I have been a performer off and on since I was in high school (I'm 50 now!) and in 2001 I created a team act that bloomed into a variety show. About 2 years later we were included in a big development package to break the act as part of a specially created amusement space called 'Galaxy Plaza' set to be a major attraction in Branson. The deal finally fell through as our economy tanked and since that time I have had to relocate and give up the show for three years to care for a parent. Now we are trying to get back out there and find the business. I could really relate to the comments you made in the book about finding your artistic and creative center and working toward those gigs. I believe we want to target theatres and colleges for our business but I'm lost in the ocean as to how to get to them. We have a good show, a great cast and lots of potential but cant seem to land consistent gigs in the areas we want to step into. I will be implementing the advice in the book and would welcome any additional input or comments you might have for us! Thanks for the book and thanks for the open invitation to communicate directly, I know it takes your time and please know it is appreciated and will be used!

  • I read and re-read "How to sell your act" and, as someone who has been performing and making a living from performing and running workshops I can only say that I wish I had had this book when I had been starting out…or at least a few years ago…I could have avoided a number of mistake that I have made & would have made a much better job of the 'business' side of things than I have over the years. Tim writes in a very straightforward and clear way and his comprehensive and extensive knowledge of Web design and how to get the most out of the current technology was a revelation to me. I would recommend this book to anyone hoping to make a living from performance and would suggest that if you follow it's advice closely you will do very well.
